Thanksgiving Tips

Thanksgiving is right around the corner. A day of family, friends, and feasting! While delicious, this feasting can be a source of stress for many who are trying to follow a clean eating plan. While there are always healthier alternatives, there is also something to be said for tradition.

So, whether your’e putting a new spin on Thanksgiving food or sticking with the classics, here are my two biggest tips heading into Turkey day:

 

  1. Just enjoy it! Don’t let the food stress you out or make you feel guilty. You don’t have to gorge yourself, but you also don’t have to deny yourself. Stress does more harm to your body than any meal will.

  2. Don’t fast prior to eating! This is a big one. Fasting will only make you feel worse post-meal. Focus on eating small, nutrient-dense meals prior to turkey time. This will not only help eliminate the urge to binge past fullness, but will also ensure your metabolism is running at full capacity.
